The Purpose of "First Turn"

"First Turn" is about helping people gain new insights into certain historic places and events--whether it is ones with which they are already familiar, or new ones that they have never experienced before. Some of the most memorable events can be when a person rounds a corner and sees something for the first time. However, it can be even more magical when seeing in a new light something that was thought to be "commonplace." What was old, suddenly is new again. Then its worth becomes greater than before.

The goal of great writing is to evoke powerful imagery that illuminates something profound about the human condition. However, many insights end up unshared, because the mechanics of capturing and presenting the ideas/vision gets in the way. Therefore, the initial emphasis here will be upon the the workflow of producing the written word and associated multi-media products.

The affinity is for those places that are a little "rough around the edges, " "often passed by, but seldom noticed," and "a little worse for wear," but which have significance that others have missed.
